Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy

Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) refers to the service, consumption and promotion of alcohol products in a manner that minimises the potential harm that may be caused by alcohol consumption to individuals, their families and the community generally.

The Nambour RSL Club is committed to ensuring all persons are properly cared for whilst they are on our premises. We value both patrons and staff and our Club Policy is designed to ensure we provide a safe environment for everyone.

The Nambour RSL Club ensures that staff are trained to the latest industry standards and that staff training on matters of patron care is a priority for staff.

The Liquor Act in Queensland states that alcohol cannot be sold or supplied to a person who is under the age of 18 years or to patrons who are unduly intoxicated or disorderly.

All staff will ask for ID if they have any concern whatsoever that a person is underage, this also applies to private functions.  Only authorised forms of identification as defined in the Liquor Act will be accepted as a means of age identification. Minors are legally allowed in most area of the Club but they cannot purchase alcohol, or consume alcohol, or be given alcohol by their parents or guardians.

Nambour RSL Club staff have the right to refuse entry or service to any person who displays signs of impairment that could reasonably be believed to be caused by the consumption of alcohol, drugs or other intoxicating substances, or to any person who creates discomfort for other patrons.

The Club provides non-alcoholic beverages, low and mid strength drinks, food with drinks and assistance with transport options.

In all instances team members will be courteous and caring to all patrons and any refusal of service will not be discriminatory. Staff will endeavour to cause no embarrassment to patrons and ensure any incident remains confidential.

All incidents involving refusal of service for undue intoxication or disorderly conduct will be recorded by the Nambour RSL Club in an incident register or Log.
