NYU Local Schools Junior Challenge a BIG HIT!

8th February 2017

Supported by NAMBOUR RSL CLUB, NAMBOUR YANDINA UNITED SOCCER CLUBS inaugural schools challenge has proved a big hit after bringing together around 50 local school students for an afternoon of soccer at NYU’s home grounds in Yandina on Wednesday 8th of February 2017.

Yandina, North Arm and Eumundi State primary schools were represented in the youth challenge for children aged 11 and 12 years old. The challenge was put together to involve local primary schools and young people from the community in the game of soccer.

NYU are passionate about the game of soccer and want to share the joy of being healthy and playing team sport. The 8 a side format was chosen as a fun format which provided all players with 3 games each and a good chance to play on the ball. There was also a competitive element with a cup being awarded to Eumundi State School-the most successful team of the afternoon.

Players were encouraged to try all the skills in the game and all were rewarded for their efforts at a presentation at the end of the afternoon which was supported by NYU major sponsor NAMBOUR RSL CLUB
