NAMBOUR YANDINA UNITED SOCCER CLUB and major sponsor NAMBOUR RSL CLUB have combined to present the LOCAL SCHOOLS CHALLENGE at NYU’s home grounds in Yandina on Thursday 8th of February 2018. The afternoon proved the world games’ growing popularity after bringing together around 55 local school students for a fun afternoon of football.

Yandina, North Arm and Eumundi State primary schools were represented in the challenge for young people aged 11 and 12 years old. The challenge was put together to involve local primary schools from the local community in the game of soccer.

NYU are very passionate about the game and love sharing the benefits of being healthy and playing team sport. This year’s 6 a side competition proved a fun format for players with 3 games each and a good chance to play on the ball in each match.

While the main aim of the afternoon was to promote soccer to young people and schools in our community there was also a competitive element with a trophy being awarded to the YANDINA STATE SCHOOL Crows-the most successful team of the afternoon.

Players were encouraged to try all the skills in the game and all were rewarded for their efforts at a presentation at the end of the afternoon which was supported by NYU major sponsor NAMBOUR RSL CLUB, K3 coaching and Sunshine Coast Football.
