The Nambour RSL Club believes that the services provided by organisations such as the Sunshine Coast Community Hospice Service are vital to Sunshine Coast Community and as such we would be delighted to see this facility operational on the Sunshine Coast. Therefore the Nambour RSL Club has come on board as a major sponsor of the Sunshine Coast Community Hospice and once this facility is open and operational we have made a commitment to double our annual contribution to aid in keeping this vital service growing for the region.
The Sunshine Coast Community Hospice will offer palliative care for individuals both adults and children and their loved ones as they learn to live with a life threatening illness. Currently there is no free standing hospice on the Sunshine Coast. Children unable to be cared for at home have no facility in which to die other than an acute hospital, which often results in children being transferred to Brisbane.
